WashingtonExec’s Amanda Ziadeh caught up with Mary Majoros, director and chief strategist of the Intelligence and Legislative Sector at CGI Federal, during the 2020 holiday season. The two discuss the federal acquisition process, the biggest obstacles procurement officials face, and how agencies can achieve acquisition agility and audit compliance in the face of hurdles. A common obstacle officials often point to is the need to increase acquisition agility in obtaining unmodified, clean, financial statement audit opinions which is one of the government acquisition requirements.  Majoros closes with sharing her hopes for the government acquisition process in the next five to 10 years.

Photo: PTI Women25/Jan/2021 New Delhi: A lawyer has challenged a recent notification by the Haryana government on bringing an amendment for providing 50% reservation to women in gram panchayat elections, on the ground that its wording actually puts a question mark on the existing 33% quota. The matter was also raised before the Punjab and Haryana high court which has issued a notice, returnable by April 20, to the state government, seeking its response.
