Tsk, tsk. Trouble in paradise. Seems golf star Tiger Woods is very sheepish about his, ahem, dial-a-dalliance with a socialite diva. He’s also pretty quiet about his collision with a tree and spiraling fall from grace. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Still, I think Woods has lots of class. Two weeks ago, my colleague Arthur Williams wrote about how hard it is for some of us to wrap our heads around the notion of taking responsibility for our own actions. How true. So it is very refreshing to hear Woods doing just that.
“This situation is all my fault and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me,” he said in a press release. “I’m human and I’m not perfect…The only person responsible for the accident is me.”
Excellence in the Law 2021
Dear readers,
We hope you enjoy this special Excellence in the Law section, which recognizes a wide range of accomplishments in the legal community.
Our Up & Coming Lawyers are the rising stars of the local legal community Massachusetts attorneys who have been members of the bar for 10 years or less, but who have already distinguished themselves.
The honorees selected for Excellence in Pro Bono are role models for the way they give back to the larger community. In addition, we are honoring individuals who embody excellence in firm administration/operations, marketing and paralegal work.
Finally, this year’s honoree for Excellence in Legal Journalism is Deborah Becker, a senior correspondent and host at WBUR, Boston’s NPR news station. Deborah was selected by the Massachusetts Bar Association, one of the sponsors for this event, and is also featured in this section.
