Chattanooga Zoo Presents New Baby Blue Duiker Wednesday, May 26, 2021
The Chattanooga Zoo announces the arrival of a baby Blue Duiker.
Early in the morning on Tuesday, Chattanooga Zoo keepers were happily surprised that their female Blue Duiker, Poppy, had given birth sometime during the night to her long-awaited baby. Even more great news, early visual exams indicate that the calf is doing extremely well. The baby is already nursing successfully, alert and exploring its habitat.
While an official name hasn’t been selected yet, there’s one thing that the entire staff at the Chattanooga Zoo can agree upon - the new baby is exceptionally cute.
Ice Cream Safari At Chattanooga Zoo Is June 12 Thursday, May 20, 2021
The Chattanooga Zoo announces Ice Cream Safari, 2021 on June 12 from 4-7 p.m. Come taste ice cream and sweet treats while your family enjoys a refreshing summer night at the Chattanooga Zoo, officials said.
Along with unlimited sweet treat tastings, this event will also include the opportunity to see some of the animals enjoying ice-treat enrichments. Keepers will create species-specific popsicles for the animals to try, so everyone can join in on the summer fun.
Tickets to the event will also include games and activities, as well as a take-home craft. Animal encounters will also be happening throughout the zoo, allowing families to experience wildlife up close and personal.
