oxygen at hospitals treating
COVID patients. The orders have been issued to the civil surgeons of Pune,
Solapur and Satara districts, and they have been asked to implement it in both government and private hospitals in their jurisdiction.

Yerawada, over the last three weeks has brought the spotlight on the lack of immunisation for people who have no official documents, thus preventing them from getting registered and vaccinated for COVID-19.
RMH has turned into a COVID hotspot. The situation at the hospital is serious, but implementation of COVID-appropriate behaviour amongst inmates is impossible, said hospital authorities. Registration for the Aadhaar card for most inmates has been started to make them eligible for vaccination as soon as possible, but this may take up to a month, they added.

The
COVID immunisation programme at over 600
hospitals in Pune region
health department has requested the Government of India (GOI) to grant permission to start
vaccination at all private hospitals in the state with a bed capacity of over 50. At present, the GOI has given permission for only 200-bed private facilities to function as vaccination sites. According to an official, there are multiple hospitals with 50-200 bed capacity and a quick approval is the need of hour to boost the vaccination programme.
