CHANDIGARH: Haryana government has decided to establish control rooms for flood, drought and heat wave at state headquarters and in all districts in the state. The control rooms will remain operational round the clock from June 1 till further orders. Sharing the details, Sanjeev Kaushal, additional Chief Secretary, department of Revenue and Disaster Management Haryana, said that the control room at state headquarters would be established in New Secretariat Building, Haryana, Sector 17. The state Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, which has been designated as the nodal department for drought management by the state Executive Committee, would also establish a drought control room at the headquarters. The office would circulate the telephone/fax number, location of control room, and the name and designation of the nodal officer of their department, along with their contact details to all the districts and departments concerned.

Haryana makes Covid-19 treatment free for BPL patients in private hospitals

Earlier, the state government had announced financial assistance of up to Rs 35,000 to BPL patients. All the BPL families who are not covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme would be eligible to get this benefit and the deputy commissioner will ensure that this financial assistance scheme reaches the grassroots level, said the Chief Minister while chairing a COVID-19 review meeting with the DCs and administrative secretaries held through video-conference. Giving further details, an official statement said Khattar told the DCs to ensure that every patient who is eligible for this benefit should get it on a priority basis. Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, Health and Home Minister Anil Vij also joined the meeting from Chandigarh and Ambala, respectively.
