The media tour for the Jacksonville Jaguars continues. With a new head coach and a potential franchise-changing quarterback on the horizon, the (relatively) young NFL team is in the spotlight for a good reason for the first time in years.
Head Coach Urban Meyer did his part to continue the narrative this week, appearing on the Adam Schefter Podcast ahead of Thursday night’s first round in the NFL Draft. With it being Meyer’s first year in the NFL, he’s receiving a crash course in how things work before the madness kicks off in a few days.

Meyer, Jaguars fail to generate splash in NFL free agency

Coach Urban Meyer s rebuilding project in Jacksonville started with a thud instead of a splash.
The Jaguars opened free agency Monday by agreeing to terms with two defensive linemen who did little in their first contracts; a pair of special teamers; a speedy receiver who failed to reach 530 yards in any of his first six seasons; and a journeyman running back whose first stint in Jacksonville couldn t have gone much worse.
Within hours of listing the nearly $10 million home at 1329 Ponte Vedra Blvd., Realtor Rina Stermilli had three offers on the property, a process that typically takes two years for similar multimillion-dollar homes.
“The home was pretty much off the market within the first 24 hours,” Stermilli said. “I listed the home midday. We had all three offers in writing by 10 p.m. that evening.”
She gave the seller, Ocenture founder and CEO Fraser Burns, 24 hours to select a buyer. Several other offers came in during that period, but Burns chose the $9.8 million offer, $273,500 more than the asking price.
It is the highest-priced home sale this year, and also tops all Northeast Florida home sales in 2020.
