LAHORE: The provincial Irrigation Department has developed an e-procurement system with the assistance of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
According to an announcement, the new system has the capacity for e-enlistment of contractors in respective categories, receipt of online bids, their evaluation and announcement of the successful/eligible bidder. For FY 2021-22, all contractors of the irrigation department will be required to enlist and bid for works under the new procurement system hosted on the official website.
Minister for Irrigation Mohsin Khan Leghari inaugurated the new system while a training workshop for Executive Engineers and Contractors of Irrigation Department at Arfa Karim Tower was arranged in this connection.

LAHORE ; Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti has launched the first Newsletter of Punjab e-Rozgar Programme at a ceremony at SBP e-Library Nishtar Park Sports Complex the other day.
Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and international e-Payment company Payoneer also signed an MoU on this occasion to make it convenient for freelancers about their payments from international clients.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs was the chief guest of the ceremony. Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fuad Hashim Rabbani, DG Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh, DG Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Sajid Latif, Partnership Manager Payoneer Afaf Noor and other officials were also present on this occasion. PITB and S&IT Department Sign Agreement to Promote Freelancing Training in Balochistan
In a ceremony held at Arfa Software Technology Park on May 5, 2021, an agreement was signed between the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Science and IT (S&IT) Department of Balochistan to set up ‘DIGIBIZZ Freelancing & Entrepreneurship Program’ in Balochistan.
The agreement was signed by PITB DG e-Governance Sajid Latif and DG S&IT Irfan Nawaz Memon. Officials from both organizations attended this ceremony including Director IT Trainings S&IT Jawad Ahmad, Senior Program Manager PITB Ahmad Islam, and the freelancing wing of PITB.
A project of S&IT to train the youth of Balochistan in Freelancing, the initiative will be executed in collaboration with PITB. The project will commence with the provision of freelancing training to over 2000 students across the province.

Secretary Irrigation Punjab Capt (retd) Saif Anjum had a meeting with Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Azfar Manzoor to discuss and review e-Abiana progress. The developments on the upcoming e-Tawan initiative as part of e-Abiana were also discussed.
Automation and upgradation of Irrigation Departmentâs library in line with PITBâs e-Library initiative was also deliberated. Both departments will be signing an agreement in this regard to make all the relevant literature readily available to departmentsâ employees. PITB DG-IT Operations Faisal Yousaf, DG e-Governance Sajid Latif, Director Development & Procurement Ata-ur-Rehman and Director IT M Kashif Farooq were also present at the meeting.
PITB, LWMC to streamline waste management operations

LAHORE:A meeting was held at Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) regarding the information and communication technology (ICT) initiatives for Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) here on Thursday.
The meeting was chaired by PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor and LWCM CEO Imran Ali Sultan. The PITB DG e- Governance Sajid Latif and other officials from both organisations were also present.
While discussing different areas of collaboration, special emphasis was laid on the implementation of ICT interventions to streamline the waste management operations of Lahore. “PITB will look into developing a model for automating waste management operations for better staff monitoring, vehicle tracking as well as staff attendance through IRIS (retina based) scanners,” PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor commented.
