A Fourth of July celebration, an LGBTQ+ pride festival and a new memorial honoring the families of fallen military personnel are among dozens of Naperville initiatives set to receive funding this year through the Special Events Cultural Amenities program.
The city council s allocation of $879,009 to various cultural, social and artistic entities Tuesday largely follows the guidance of the advisory SECA Commission. Sadly, St. Patrick’s Day 2021 is going to look a lot like 2020′s version. There will be few parades, bar crawls and concerts with kilts and bagpipes. But we’ve had a year to adjust and figure some things out. Look for more virtual and socially-distanced events to celebrate the Irish this year.

The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise invites individual runners and families to sign up for the St. Paddy s Day 5K, which will be held as a virtual run. The club has teamed up with Downtown Naperville to support local restaurants and retailers during this challenging time.
The Naperville St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been canceled for a second consecutive year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but organizers still hope to hold a new Irish Fest in the city this summer.
