PHOTO PROVIDED Edison and Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers has joined Museums for All to encourage people of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum-going habits. Starting Aug. 1, individuals and families of up to four people receiving food assistance benefits will be admitted for a self-guided tour when they present their SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card; special events and Holiday Nights admission are not included.

aMuse um Children s Museum debuts new Asian Culture exhibit

The Daily Herald Visitors to aMuse um Children s Museum in downtown Columbia will see a new Asian culture musical exhibit on display over the next few weeks. The Association of Children s Museums (ACM) recently selected the Columbia museum to participate in a new pilot program as part of the Freeman Foundation Asian Culture Exhibit Series (FFACES), which according to a press release promotes Asian cultural understanding among families in America. “Being selected to take part in this program provides an excellent opportunity for the museum to offer a culturally-diverse family experience in Maury County, in addition to exposing young children to something they may not be familiar with,” aMuse’um Executive Director Maeghan Wall said. We are part of the ACM, and we are prototyping this to see how exhibits like this work in smaller children s museums.
