A couple returned to a Chicago restaurant where they had their first date to celebrate their 20th anniversary and ended up leaving the staff a $2,000 tip.
Jim Higgins, owner of Club Lucky in Bucktown, said the couple has been visiting the eatery Feb. 12 each year to mark the anniversary of their first date.
Eddie Cruz, a bartender and server at the restaurant, closed out the married couple’s tab Friday night and was shocked to see they had left a $2,000 tip. Thank you for 20 years of good memories, excellent food & outstanding service. Cheers to many more, the couple wrote in a note on the receipt.
