The thing I have learned about trauma is that itâs complex. One woman can have the same assault experience as the other but can end up experiencing symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in very different ways. For some itâs numbness, for others itâs anxiety and for many, the trauma ends up being a mix of physical (pain during intercourse), and mental issues (like sexual anxiety).
