Library intends to focus on expanding programs and diversity over next four years

CPL unveiled the plan titled Building the Bridge to Possibilities to Caledon Town Council at its July 6 meeting Colleen Lipp, CEO/Chief Librarian and Janet Manning, Chair of the Caledon Public Library Board presented the plan that, according to Lipp, “confirms the Library’s commitment to work with Council, community partners and residents to guide the future of library spaces and services.” “The plan is the product of community surveys and engagement of residents, staff and key stakeholders to clarify community needs and confirm municipal priorities,” said Janet Manning. “Designed to be a thoughtful, proactive and achievable road map for the next four years, it will ensure our efforts to serve Caledon can chan

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how libraries in Caledon operate, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t offering residents something to do. Caledon Public Library has worked hard to ensure people from across the area are still able to enjoy their programming, just through a different lens with their shift to the online world. Although the province is still dealing with the pandemic and widespread closures, Caledon Public Library has a jam-packed spring to keep people busy while they’re in lockdown at home.

Caledon Public Library looking for community feedback on strategic plan

CPL joins 500 libraries across Canada in first bilingual digital book club

December 22, 2020   ·   0 Comments Written By ALYSSA PARKHILL LOCAL JOURNALISM INITIATIVE REPORTER The Caledon Public Library (CPL) has joined over 500 other Canadian libraries in the first bilingual digital book club. One eRead Canada is a national digital reading initiative that connects libraries and their readers across Canada to come together as one. It was developed by the Canadian Urban Libraries Council (CULC). It is the first digital reading program of this size.  The program began last year, having taken place in the month of June, where libraries and their readers enjoyed Glass Beads by Dawn Dumont. It was chosen to recognize and support the Indigenous community and a Canadian author.
