The Rockin 50s Eatery is a new venture by husband-and-wife Jeremy and Megan Holcomb located in a small corner space in the Winn-Dixie plaza on U.S. 1 North, the site of the former Old City Subs.
The Holcombs were originally just going to take over operation of the St. Augustine north location of Old City Subs but the deal fell through and they decided to go ahead with plans to run a sandwich shop anyway.
Why the 50s theme? Well, we both like antique cars, said Jeremy, and she [Megan] likes 50s stars like Marilyn Monroe and Lucille Ball. We just thought it was kind of family-oriented and we picked a theme and ran with it.

The Dolds opened the Bakersville Bread Company in January 2018. Though Josef worked in carpentry most of his life (his handiwork can be seen in the shop s rough-hewn wooden gable framing a painting of the German countryside), he added, I always loved to bake.
