Officers from Braintree and Quincy police, as well as the Randolph Police K-9 unit, set up a perimeter and ultimately found Simonson.
The crash victim, a 36-year-old Randolph man, later told police that a car followed him all the way from Route 2 near Concord, through Randolph and into Braintree, eventually stopping at a stop light in Braintree near the Five Corners intersection on Granite Street. At that point, Simonson got out of his car and tried to get into the victim s car, police said.
The victim then got out of his car to confront Simonson, who got back in his car and used it to hit both the victim and the victim s car, police said. Shortly after, the victim called 911 to report the incident.
