Interim FCA chief Chris Woolard has been given a CBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours list.
Woolard held the role on a temporary basis between the March departure of Andrew Bailey to the Bank of England, and when London Stock Exchange boss Nikhil Rathi became FCA chief in October.
Woolard ended up serving six months in the post.
He has been given a CBE for “services to financial regulation and financial technology innovation”.
Woolard has fronted a lot of the FCA’s work in the technology space including the regulatory sandbox and its robo-advice unit, but announced he would leave the regulator once a full-time head of the watchdog was found and he had completed a review into unsecured credit practices.
