Antony Longworth, prosecuting, told how police spotted Roberts driving a a Daihatsu Charade in Leigh town centre just before 8pm on March 19, but he refused to stop, travelling at speeds of up to 60mph on roads including Glebe Street and Windermere Road before crashing into bollards.

Man arrested by transport police after Stoke-on-Trent bridge stand-off
A man has been arrested by the British Transport Police following a stand-off at a Stoke-on-Trent bridge.
Police officers closed the Glebe Street bridge by Stoke Station in Stoke shortly before 5pm today (April 16).
Specially trained police officers were negotiating with the man while he was on the bridge.

JOHNSTOWN The Greater Johnstown School District will move forward Tuesday with plans to bring students from Warren Street Elementary School in grades third through sixth back to in-person learning four days a week after the district’s spring break.
Monday will be a fully remote day for all Warren Street students, giving staff necessary time to acclimate to their new classrooms.
In order to satisfy six-foot social distancing requirements, a district release issued Thursday said students and teachers will be split into two buildings for the remainder of the school year, with grades three and four staying at Warren Street and grades five and six moving to the Knox Building, which currently houses district administrators, pre-K and several BOCES s
