Tough to the end - Man who shot at liberal valiants
IN his long film career, John Wayne defeated almost every cattle-rustler, claim-jumper, ranch-stealer, outlaw, gunslinger and troublesome Injun be encountered.
And in life he fought liberalism. He loathed the Lefty Press. In salty style, he promoted the virtues of truth, right and the American way. He was a leathery superman.

Wayne Hayes remembers a time when he would drive past a sign on what now is North Mulberry Street in Elizabethtown that declared the cityâs population to be 4,500.
With the population now estimated to be more than 30,000, a great deal of growth and change have occurred throughout Hayesâ life. Despite all the transformations that have happened around him, Hayes has maintained some key values, including a strong faith, a dedication to family and a devotion to service for his community and his country.
On April 13, Hayes will celebrate 100 years of life. Although simply being a centenarian is quite the achievement in itself, the way Hayes has filled those 100 years â from fighting in World War II to maintaining a local business for three decades to finding new love in his golden years â is much more remarkable.

Diane Norman lost her memory twice.
The first time, it disappeared in bits and pieces. She forgot where she left her purse, searching for it dozens of times a day. She forgot how to cook and how to pay the bills. She forgot people who were fixtures in her life.
Then, last year, she lost it again when the
pandemic kept her away from her husband the keeper of her memories.
“Today is our wedding anniversary,” Gordon Norman said, as he sat in the living room beside the chair his wife once occupied in their Glendora home. It was Feb. 17, a Wednesday, and they were celebrating 54 years of marriage over FaceTime.
GLENDALE, Calif. (KABC) In a year compressed, confined and consumed by the coronavirus pandemic, some local high school students find themselves facing a problem that could haunt them for the rest of their lives: How do you put together a yearbook when hardly anything happened at your school? It has been a real challenge, said Glendale High School s yearbook advisor Jon Livingston. The kids have just been amazing, and they ve just done such incredible work.
For the entire school year so far, Glendale High like most other schools, has been off-limits to students because of the COVID-19 crisis. There have been no football games, no rallies, no in-person classes, just a daily blur of Zoom meetings.
