Free support and advice will be on offer at sessions in the Airedale Shopping Centre. Keighley Works Community Led Local Development Project is behind the initiative. It gives one-to-one support to help people into work or training. Assistance is provided in areas ranging from job application forms to confidence building. And training in maths and English can be given to anyone who needs it. Key workers will be on hand at the pop-up shop to provide more information about the project and offer help. Sessions are taking place on Tuesdays April 13 and 20, and on Wednesday, April 28. All are from 11am to 2pm.
A PROJECT is being launched in Keighley aimed at helping people into work. The initiative is designed to give those who are currently jobless the skills and confidence needed to find suitable employment. Spearheading the venture is Keighley Town Council, in partnership with Craven College. As part of the Keighley Works project, people will be offered free access to a range of practical and educational resources and support – including focused training courses, work placements and accredited volunteering opportunities. Tailored help will be provided by a new town council trio of community key workers – Helen Bannister, Chris Corkindale and Sarah Barnes.
