Crofton Beam Engines hopes to be back up and running next year Crofton Beam Engines, owned by the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust, has just completed a major £750,000 project to restore and protect its Grade 1 listed building. It houses the oldest working beam engine in the world that is still in its original location and capable of performing the task for which it was installed.
