Craven County Schools employees will receive bonuses up to $1,500

In recognition of their work during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Craven County Board of Education has approved bonuses for the school system’s full-time and part-time employees. All full-time employees will receive a $1,500 bonus, while all part-time employees will see an extra $1,000. Long term substitute teachers will also receive the $1,000 bonus. The money will be distributed on June 30. According to Superintendent Meghan Doyle, the bonuses will come out of the school system’s federal COVID-19 relief funding. “This recognizes the extra time that every one of our employees have had to give in order to do blended and digital instruction, to deliver meals, to prepare things in a way we never thought we would have to do 18 months ago,” said Doyle. “It just recognizes the hard work, the extra time and the care that our staff have provided to families and students.”
