Dwight Love’s beloved wife of 52 years passed away in May 2020, and he couldn’t be by her side.
Marlene Love was rushed to the hospital by paramedics at 6:30 a.m. on May 11, and that was the last time Dwight saw her alive.
For Love, who lives in Birmingham, it was heartbreaking.
Because of the coronavirus, he wasn’t allowed to ride to the hospital with his wife, and he wasn’t allowed to be by her side in the end. He sat alone in the parking lot at St. Vincent’s for several hours until his granddaughter arrived to comfort him. Marlene, 73, died from complications due to COPD.
