Walters had a very humanitarian approach to law enforcement and saw his job as not to punish people but to make the community’s life easier.

Negative contact. 9:15 p.m., man, 25, chest pain and difficulty breathing, Seneca Street; United Ambulance and Byesville EMS/FD. 8:18 p.m., woman, 51, difficulty breathing and chest pains, McKinley Street, Kipling. 7:30 p.m., child abuse reported, Stewart Avenue; Cambridge police. 7:21 p.m., verbal altercation, High Avenue; Byesville police. 7:10 p.m., civil paper service, West Wind Lane. Negative contact.
