She was struck by the vehicle on Gateside Avenue early yesterday morning. Police are now investigating after the man in the vehicle drove off from the scene in the direction of Inverkip Road. Officers are looking for witnesses who may have seen the incident and they are combing CCTV footage. A spokesperson said: Any witnesses to a woman being struck by a van that was driving off around 8.50am on Wednesday should contact Constable Liam McGowan at Greenock Police Office through 101 quoting reference 1107. The woman was checked over at Inverclyde Royal and was later released.
