At least three Louisville protesters were arrested in the Highlands late Friday evening in a tense confrontation with police officers during a march from downtown, which continued to Mayor Greg Fischer s house.
A crowd of protesters began marching from Jefferson Square Park at about 7 p.m., calling for justice for Dernorver Dee Garrett, the 29-year-old who was punched in the face multiple times by a Louisville Metro Police officer during an arrest Sunday.
The demonstrators marched from the park to Broadway, where they stood blocking traffic for about 10 minutes. You know what s gonna happen. They are going to come out, protest leader Chris Wells warned the group about police before they continued east.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. A main road in the Highlands is expected to be closed for a month due to sewer line work.
MSD said Cherokee Parkway between Grinstead Drive and Willow Avenue will close to allow crews to work on a 60-inch brick sewer line that runs underneath the road.
The first part of the project involves rehabilitating the pipe from Everett to Willow which will require some temporary closures.
