Moynihan may require New Canaan employees to get vaccinated

Kevin Moynihan told his fellow selectmen Tuesday that he heard “anecdotally” that though some town departments have a high level of vaccinated employees, some do not.
“I think we need to focus on vaccinations of employees and I hope we can find a way to require vaccination for all employees who have not yet gotten vaccinations,” Moynihan said at the Board of Selectmen meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 3
He acknowledged that the town has seen breakthrough cases, infections with vaccinated people, from people traveling to higher transmission areas. “Fortunately they are not getting very sick, they have flu-like symptoms,” he said. “The vaccine works as far as mitigating the symptoms.”
