His office said Executive Office of Health and Human Services Secretary Womazetta Jones will look at department plans and changes for Eleanor Slater Hospital that were developed under McKee’s predecessor, Gina Raimondo.

Eleanor Slater Hospital CEO removed as questions swirl PROVIDENCE  In the first sign of a shakeup in the top ranks at the state-run Eleanor Slater Hospital, Jennifer White has been removed as interim chief executive officer. In response to a Journal inquiry, Linda Reilly, spokeswoman for the Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals, confirmed that: Jen White is no longer the interim CEO of ESH. White remains chief financial officer assigned to BHDDH, the agency that runs the Eleanor Slater Hospital.  Many questions remain unanswered. Among them: Why was chief medical officer Brian Daly paid $400,551 last year, including $120,025 in overtime, at the same time BHDDH embarked on a major cost-cutting drive that eventually included the layoff of frontline doctors?

Dan McKee: the outrage for his administration s refusal to release even to legislators documents that might shed further light on the financial mess he inherited from his predecessor Gina Raimondo at the state hospital. The most glaring symbol of this mess: the year-and-a-half suspension of state billing for more than $60 million in potential Medicaid dollars.  One union leader has asked publicly if federal investigators at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) found evidence that the state agency that runs the state hospital committed fraud.   Who told [the agency] to stop billing? Do we owe any money back to Medicaid? If not, then why haven t we started billing? asked
