Owen Sound police fined a 25-year-old local man for violating the provincial stay-at-home order Wednesday.
Police were called to investigate a report of a possible party at an eastside residence, an Owen Sound Police Service news release said Thursday.

“Several persons were spoken to, with a 25-year-old local man being charged and issued an $880 fine under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act,” the release said.
The Ontario government declared a state of emergency April 7 and issued a stay-at-home order, which requires everyone to remain home except for essential purposes, which don’t include social gatherings, the release said.
