Coimbatore: A day after the country banned flights from the United Kingdom (UK) and other airlines from flying in people with a recent travel history to that country, health department officials visited the city airport on Tuesday and ensured mechanisms were in place to trace flyers who have arrived from the UK in the past two weeks.
Since there are no direct flights from the UK, the officials have asked the airport authorities to carefully check domestic passengers, who land from Bengaluru, New Delhi and Chennai with a travel history from the UK. They have appealed the people, who have arrived from the UK in the past two weeks, to isolate themselves for a week.
