As it was a weekend, the day saw less traffic and public movement on city streets, with the exception of market areas, which were inundated with people from all walks of life.

Man dies after motorcycle collided with battery-run van in Dhaka’s Paribagh Star Digital Report Star Digital Report A motorcyclist died and his pillion rider sustained injuries after their bike collided with a battery-run van on an apparently vacant road in Dhaka s Paribagh area early today. The deceased was identified as Mohiuddin, 30, an employee of a shop at Gausia Market, police said. The incident occurred around 1:30am when Mohiuddin along with his friend Tanvir, 25, went out of his Kamrangirchar home with the bike during the strict lockdown , said Champak Chakraborty, a sub-inspector of Shahbagh Police Station. As they reached near a petrol pump in Paribagh area, the bike collided with the van, leaving them injured, he said.
