Whether you are a solo musician, a band, a singer, an instrumentalist or a DJ, we would really like to help to promote you with a free advert in our newspaper. The Portugal News is dedicated to supporting live music, locally in the Algarve but also throughout the rest of Portugal. We understand how difficult the pandemic has been for the cultural sector due to constraints from the pandemic: with the enforcement of social distancing and with many shows cancelled or postponed, limits on numbers attending shows and further restrictions at venues, it has meant that sadly usual concerts have not been able to take place, which has negatively impacted so many musicians in regards to their income.

Portimão’s Soup Kitchen: Helping feed the community! By Cristina da Costa Brookes, in Good News · 23-07-2021 01:00:00 · 0 Comments Volunteer and give back to your community This wonderful Soup Kitchen is located on Rua de São José, next to Doka’s Bar in Portimão and was started by the International Christian Fellowship Church of Portimão in May 2010, with just a handful of helpers who were feeding 12 people once a week. The Soup Kitchen has greatly expanded over the past 11 years, now they serve around 100 people on the days that they are running. They serve hot meals, sandwiches, soup, cake, yogurts and fruit for takeaway. They are open three times a week on a Sunday between 1pm and 1:30pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 6pm and 6:30pm, open to absolutely anyone!
