MAMOU, La. (KPLC) - A Mamou man has been arrested after being accused of trying to set a house on fire with a woman and three children still inside, according to the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal.
Around 3 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021, the Evangeline District 1 Fire Department responded to a residence on J J St. in Mamou after receiving a report of a house fire.
Once on scene, firefighters learned that a woman and her three children were still inside the home. Firefighters say James N. Rozas, 33, then approached them and admitted that he’d set the house and vehicle on fire.
