Neville House Associates plans to use the structure, crafted with wood from an 1810 Belgium barn found at the Steranko Farm in Latrobe, to provide more authentic experiences at the Woodville Plantation. “It fits in with our time period,” said Susan O’Toole, Neville House Associates president. “There obviously would have been a barn on this property. It was a working farm for many years. We felt this would give us an opportunity to have programming, events, rentals, etc., which would generate income – which is important for any historical site.”

Why Pete Buttigieg visited Pittsburgh and what he said

View Comments U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg visited Pittsburgh on Thursday afternoon to take a close look at some bridges and tout the infrastructure benefits in President Joe Biden’s American Jobs Plan. During a press conference on Mt. Buttigieg noted Pittsburgh’s industrial history and how those workers a century ago helped produce the steel that built many of the 446 bridges that dot the city.

PennDOT’s I-79 Widening, Bridges and Bridgeville Interchange Reconfiguration The possibility of a toll in the vicinity of Interstate 79’s Bridgeville interchange continues to draw disapproval. Upper St. Clair has become the latest nearby municipality to express formal opposition. Township commissioners voted unanimously Monday to pass a resolution to that effect, joining Bridgeville Borough, Collier Township and South Fayette, where the interchange is located. In addition, the South West Communities Chamber of Commerce has launched a petition that garnered almost 2,000 signatures in its first week, according to executive director Mandi Pryor. The opportunity to sign goes throughout April, before the petition is delivered to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation by the office of state Sen. Devlin Robinson, R-Bridgeville.
