Atlanta police warning parents not to encourage water boys
A top police official said officers will cite parents and hold them responsible if the hustling is not curtailed.
ATLANTA - The Atlanta Police Department have tried polite persuasion with the water boys. At other times, they have confiscated cases of water. But that did not stop them from buying more and returning to their hustle in the middle of busy intersections.
Now, a top cop tells Atlanta City Council members a new tactic will be tried. Parents of these boys may be cited.

ATLANTA - It s never a good idea to flash cash in public.
An Atlanta councilwoman added that is a terrible idea if the holder of that cash is 11 or 12 years old.
Marci Collier Overstreet said that activity puts these boys in danger. The older kids will come up and take their money, said Overstreet. We have to ask the public, again, not to buy.
Even when motorists choose not to buy a bottle, some of them will give anyway, and often it is more than one dollar.
