Well, what a way to go out. The Chicago Blackhawks close the 2021 regular season with an overtime loss, 5-4, against the Dallas Stars. Shots on goal in the game were 50-23 in favor of Dallas, the most shot on goal the Blackhawks have allowed all season. With the overtime loss, the Blackhawks finish the season series against Dallas with a 5-2-1 record and finish the regular season with a 24-25-7 record. Chicago finishes the season with 55 points in the standings, good for sixth in the Central Division.

CHICAGO (AP) â Jason Robertson scored 4:30 into overtime, and the Dallas Stars rallied to beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4 on Monday night in the final game of the season for each team.
Miro Heiskanen had a goal and an assist for Dallas (23-19-14), which had dropped six of seven. Joe Pavelski, Jason Dickinson and Joel Kiviranta also scored, and Jake Oettinger made 19 saves.
The Stars controlled play for most of the night, finishing with a 50-23 advantage in shots on goal. But they trailed 4-2 before Kiviranta and Dickinson scored 1:54 apart midway through the third.
Radek Faksa received a double minor for high-sticking late in regulation, but Dallas killed off the penalty. Jamie Benn then had a shot that trickled past Blackhawks goaltender Collin Delia, and Robertson knocked it home for his 17th on the year.
IRON MEN
All told, 37 players donned Blackhawks jerseys for at least a game during the 2020-21 season, but only Patrick Kane, Dominik Kubalik and David Kampf played in all 56 games over the last four months.
Kane once again led the Blackhawks in scoring for the sixth straight season with 66 points (15G, 51A). Kubalik notched 38 points (17G, 21A) in 56 skates, good for a points-per-game rate of 0.679 that eclipsed his 0.676 rate over 68 games in last year s run as a Calder Trophy finalist (30G, 16A). Kampf finished as the leading faceoff man for the Blackhawks, taking 777 draws on the season both a team high and a career best as well as a success rate of 52.77% on the dot, just shy of his 53.0% career mark in his rookie season on more than 200 fewer draws in total.

Alex DeBrincat scored in the first period to become the first NHL player since 1985 with a goal in each of his team’s last seven games.
Collin Delia made 45 saves in goal. And forward
Dylan Strome, reinserted after two more healthy scratches, had a goal and an assist in what may have been his final Hawks game. Like the Hawks, he now enters a crucial offseason.

Jason Robertson scored with 29.6 seconds remaining in overtime, John Klingberg tallied three assists and Jamie Benn had two as the visiting Dallas Stars erased a late two-goal deficit to defeat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4 on Monday night in the regular season finale.
In a meeting of teams not going to the playoffs, Dallas outshot Chicago 50-23, eventually breaking through against Chicago goaltender Collin Delia, who made 45 saves.
The Blackhawks had the benefit of a 4-on-3 advantage for the majority of overtime, as the Stars Radek Faksa was whistled for a high sticking double minor at 19:39 of the third period, but were unable to capitalize.
