In a game where the Chicago Blackhawks had nothing to play for, they at least put together an effort bookended with stretches of quality hockey. The Carolina Hurricanes still came up on the winning end tonight in a 6-3 game, but Chicago showed a resilience and a G.A.F. attitude that was missing last night. Chicago is now 2-4-1 in their seven meetings agains the Hurricanes this season with the regular season series finale coming on Thursday night. It will also be the final road game of the season for the Blackhawks. With the loss, the Blackhawks are 0-5-1 over their last six games.

Andrei Svechnikov and Nino Niederreiter each scored two goals and the Carolina Hurricanes responded from a two-goal deficit to defeat the Chicago Blackhawks 6-3, stretching their points streak to 12 games Tuesday night in Raleigh, N.C.
Niederreiter and Svechnikov scored in the second period for the Hurricanes before the team s four-goal third period. Svechnikov broke a tie and Teuvo Teravainen s goal gave the Hurricanes a 4-2 lead. After a Chicago goal from Alex DeBrincat, Martin Necas scored on a short-handed empty-net goal before Niederreiter s empty-netter capped the scoring.

Delia fell behind Kevin Lankinen and Malcolm Subban in coach Jeremy Colliton’s goaltending rotation early on and was given no opportunities to reestablish himself as long as the team remained in contention. “They’ve done an excellent job, so [I’m] just trying to be a cheerleader for them, support them the best I can, talk about things I’m seeing in their game, be another observer and give constructive criticism,” Delia said Monday. “If that’s my role up to this point, so be it. But I love to play, I love to compete.”
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) â Andrei Svechnikov ended an eight-game goal drought by scoring twice to help the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Chicago Blackhawks 6-3 on Tuesday night.
Svechnikov also had an assist on Teuvo Teravainen’s third-period goal for the Hurricanes, who had to battle and erase a 2-0 deficit to maintain momentum toward winning the franchise’s first Presidents’ Trophy.
Teravainen also had a three-point game, assisting on both of Svechnikov’s goals. And Sebastian Aho followed his hat trick in Monday’s win against the Blackhawks with a pair of third-period assists, a reminder of how good Carolina’s top line can be when it gets rolling.

What To Watch For
• Collin Delia gets his first start tonight since January 17th. He came into the game last night in relief of Malcolm Subban and made 19 saves on 19 shots in his first NHL action since that January 17th start. He is 0-2-0 with a .891 save-percentage and a 4.03 GAA in his three NHL appearances this season.
• Alex DeBrincat has a point in six of his last seven games against the Hurricanes with four goals and four assists over those six games. DeBrincat also enters the night on a four-game point streak and a three-game goal streak. Since February 2nd, he is tied for second in the NHL with 24 goals, only trailing Austin Matthews.
