Eire Ãg manager Paul Madden feels his squad were rewarded for a hardworking performance as they picked up their first points of the 2021 Clare Senior Football championship.
A trio of goals from the Townies saw them post the highest scoring tally of the opening weekend as they registered a 3-10 to 0-9 win over Lissycasey.
It sees them now in a strong position to claim a quarter final spot with games against Clondegad and Doonbeg to come when action resumes in four weeks time.

The manager of the reigning Clare senior football champions feels his squad are starting to hit form at the right time of year.
Kilmurry Ibrickane get the defence of their title underway tomorrow evening when they take on neighbours Miltown in the opening round of group games.
The Bricks will be without some key players with Dermot Coughlan, Shane Hickey and Noel Downes all ruled out through long term injuries.
