  A Hopkinsville man and two women were arrested on warrants for criminal abuse after a child abuse investigation on North Iris Drive in Hopkinsville. Hopkinsville Police say during July 13th and 14th 22-year-old Courtney Harper and 25-year-old Jessica Maddux hit a 6-year-old and a 5-year-old with a wooden spoon causing severe bruising to each child. Maddux’s boyfriend 26-year-old Donnie Freeman was also arrested after he reportedly hit the children with his hand causing serious physical injury. Police say Maddux admitted she had spanked the children with a wooden spoon as a discipline. Maddux and Freeman were arrested Thursday afternoon, Harper was arrested Tuesday they are all charged with first-degree criminal abuse.
