The primal redwood forest that is Muir Woods is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Bay Area. Generally mobbed with visitors, the park instated a reservation system a few years back to decrease crowds and better preserve the land.
But don t worry, if you re looking for a spur-of-the-moment bit of grounding in the woods, no reservation required, there is another Marin gem that offers up similar serenity.
The hike up to Dawn Falls from the trailhead is only 1.1 miles; however, you may not find parking (there are only six spaces). An attractive alternative for those who have the time is to park in downtown Larkspur. You ll double your distance (about 4.5 miles roundtrip) and enjoy ambling through the historic town, passing by former vacation cottages that are now million-dollar homes.
First U.S. Delivery Of Polestar 2 Took Place On December 18 ++ We only know him as ProfessorCook, but there are more Polestar 2s heading to U.S. homes.
ProfessorCook is the first US buyer to get the car, apparently.
He shared his delivery experience with other

ProfessorCook’s real name, we know he lives “north of Boston.” Digging a little deeper, we discovered that he lives in West Newbury, still in Massachusetts, and that he spent three hours and a half to reach the Pittsfield RMV to pick up the plates for his Polestar 2. The RMV did not have Polestar as a make.

A year from now, what will your Monday morning look like?
After your umpteenth consecutive weekend hugging your mother, your friends and complete strangers in poorly ventilated spaces, do you picture yourself pouring coffee in your thermos to begin your bleary-eyed commute into work? Or are you about to begin your bleary-eyed all-staff on the morning Zoom?
The answers to those questions will depend on your job, your income level, your employer and, if you’re lucky enough, your preference. They will also dictate whether the next decade of California’s housing affordability crisis looks radically different from the last.
Corte Madera vets draft climate change plan [The Marin Independent Journal, Novato, Calif.]
Dec. 20 Wildfire, flooding and sea level rise are top of mind in Corte Madera as the town seeks feedback on its draft climate change plan.
Town officials presented the draft at the Town Council meeting on Tuesday. The document is expected to be completed in February.
“It’s the most important conversation that we face as a community moving forward,” said Todd Cusimano, the town manager.
The town is one of the highest fire risk zones in the state and is in the top 3% of municipalities that will be impacted by sea level rise, he said.
