Man arrested for deadly triple shooting at Sandy Springs apartment

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - Police in Sandy Springs said they have made an arrest in connection to the death of a triple shooting on Thursday morning that left two people dead and one person injured.
Jesus Alvarez de La Rosahas, 25, was arrested on Monday in Calhoun with the assistance of Gordon County Sheriff’s deputies, Georgia State Patrol trooper, and Calhoun police officers.

A third was rushed to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to recover. Police are withholding that victim’s name.
Man Gets 25 Years For Shooting Whitfield County Deputy In September 2020 Tuesday, February 16, 2021
Dalton Lee Potter, 29, of San Patricio, Tx., has been sentenced to 25 years for shooting Whitfield County Deputy Chip Hackney in September of 2020.
Potter entered a guilty plea Tuesday morning to the charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, theft by bringing stolen property into the state of Georgia and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Jim Wilbanks pursuant to a negotiated plea agreement to serve a total of 25 years in prison. Potter was represented by Micah Gates of the Conasauga Public Defender’s Office. Potter has pending charges in Gordon County including another aggravated assault charge and pending charges in Texas.
