(TNN) - On Wednesday, the CDC recommended the use of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine on kids between the ages of 12 and 15. The Comanche County Health Department is already making a push to make that vaccine available to schools in southwest Oklahoma starting Monday. Brandie Combs from the Comanche County Health Department said this population is more difficult to vaccinate because kids will need parental consent, but they’re trying to make it easier by planning the clinics either before or after school.

(TNN) - The Comanche County Health Department will be holding a variety of COVID-19 Vaccine events in the upcoming week. They will be doing a drive-thru vaccine clinic on Wednesday, May 12 at Comanche County’s Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Drivers are asked to enter from ‘G’ Avenue and then head to the EXPO Building. The COVID-19 Vaccine drive-thru will offer the Pfizer, Moderna, and Janssen vaccines to anyone age 16 and older, no appointment necessary.

All persons that are age 16 plus are eligible. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to get vaccinated. The CCHD has been on the move helping the Lawton, Fort Sill community get their COVID-19 vaccinations. Maybe you ve seen the pop-up mobile vaccination clinics around town, or went to one yourself. The CCHD is doing their part to make getting your vaccination as quick and easy as possible. The CCHD has done an amazing job throughout the pandemic and they certainly don t get enough credit and thanks for all they ve done and continue to do for us. These new pop-up vaccination clinics are awesome!

(TNN) - The Oklahoma State Department of Health will begin administering the COVID-19 vaccine to those 65 years of age and older Monday, January 4. There will be multiple COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Southwest Oklahoma going on in the upcoming week, including sites in both Altus and Lawton. Altus will have a clinic located at the Altus Community Center at 401 Falcon Rd. Altus residents over the age of 65 will be able to get the vaccine on January 4 and 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
