With July 4th just around the corner, the Wheat Ridge Police Department (WRPD) is encouraging its residents to photograph anyone they see setting off illegal fireworks in city limits.  The police department told 9NEWS in order to issue citations to residents that are doing the illegal activity, they need photographic proof.   If you have a photo of someone lighting off fireworks that shows us who the culprit would be and who would actually be responsible for that fire danger, WRPD Office Brian Gross said.

The medical examiner said blunt force injuries were the cause of her death.  Gianna was rushed to Denver Health on Aug. 3, 2020, and died the next day, Denver Police Department (DPD) said. Gianna would have turned one-year-old on Oct. 25, 2020. Jolene Beyer-LaCrue, 19, was arrested by DPD Thursday night for investigation of child abuse resulting in death. LaCrue s boyfriend, Cain Gallardo, 21, was arrested on May 4, DPD said. Gallardo has been charged with two counts of child abuse resulting in death, the Denver District Attorney s Office said.

The Wheat Ridge Police Department responded a report of a missing service dog, Tank, at 4700 Kipling St, near the off ramp for eastbound Kipling Street at about 9 a.m. According to the owner, she woke up after having a seizure and Tank wasn t there. Tank is a one-year-old full breed German Shepard. Tank was wearing a blue harness, a blue collar and had a green leash.

Police are looking for Buddy the dog – he was stolen, along with his family s truck parked near I-70 and Kipling on Thursday, said Wheat Ridge Police (WRPD). The dog s owners realized his pick-up truck – a 2016 red Toyota Tacoma with California plates #86932Y1 – was missing, said police. Even more worrying to the owner, Buddy, the dog, was in the truck when it was taken.
