All Yellowknife schools to close as 6 new cases and 10 probable cases of COVID-19 identified
Several public exposure notices have been issued following news that the outbreak at N.J. Macpherson School now includes six cases of COVID-19 and 10 probable cases of the illness.

After a 30-day healing program launched by Dehcho First Nations had positive results, coordinators and participants say there is a need for more programming like it. Culture really is healing. Being on the land is healing. That s my hope, is to see more and more of these programs in the N.W.T., especially in the Dehcho, said Kristen Tanche, regional health and wellness coordinator with Dehcho First Nations.
The program is a partnership between Dehcho First Nations and Frank and Bev Hope from Shakes the Dust Hope Consulting.
Acho Dene Koe First Nation posts preliminary election results
Eugene Hope has been elected chief of the Acho Dene Koe First Nation, according to preliminary results posted to the community’s Facebook page. Hope won by just three votes with 148 in total.

Eugene Hope has been elected chief of the Acho Dene Koe First Nation in Fort Liard, N.W.T.
That s according to preliminary results posted to the community s Facebook page. Hope won by just three votes with 148 in total. James Duntra had 145 votes and Steven Steeves had 24 votes.
N.W.T. residents should prepare for near-certain flooding
People are urged to prepare their homes, cabins and properties due to flood risk, which includes “near-certain flooding” on the Tazin and Taltson rivers.
