Syracuse, N.Y. Chariel Osorio stood in front of his Near West Side home with a smile on his face and a diploma in his hands.
It was a sunny June day, and Osorio had just graduated from Corcoran High School. The 17-year-old boy, still clad in his shiny maroon graduation cap and gown, posed for a photo proudly showing off his new degree.
Six hours later, Osorio was shot in the head.

Syracuse police say they ve arrested a teen wanted in connection with a homicide earlier this month.
According to investigators, 17-year-old Cody Windley was taken into custody over the weekend. Officials say he stabbed 36-year-old Franchelli Almonte on December 11th. Almonte was reportedly trying to help out the daughter of one of her friends when she was attacked. Windley is facing several charges, including murder.

Syracuse, N.Y. Syracuse police today arrested a 17-year-old male who is accused of stabbing a woman to death Dec. 11 on Spring Street on the city’s North Side.
Cody Windley, 17, who police say has no permanent address, was wanted for killing Franchelli Almonte, police said. The 36-year-old woman, a mother of two, was trying to rescue the daughter of another friend when she was stabbed.
