PATNA: The National Hydel Power Corporation (NHPC) will establish the Dagmara multipurpose hydel power plant across river Kosi in Supaul district with an investment of Rs2,500 crore. The plant will have the power generation capacity of 130.1 MW.
The MoU in this regard was signed between NHPC and Bihar State Hydel Power Corporation (BSHPC) on Monday through videoconferencing in the presence of Union minister of state for power R K Singh and state energy minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, besides senior central and state government officials.
The Dagmara plant will be the state’s biggest hydel power plant to be located 31km along the downstream of the river. While it will have two power generation houses, the barrage length of the plant will be 753 metres and will have 36 gates. Besides generating green power, the barrage of the plant will also provide alternative route to cross the river.
