Bellway invited children at Annabelle’s Nursery in Great Coxwell to design their ideal home, with prizes on offer for the most outstanding creations. A captivating collection of drawings and models were then submitted by the children. Emily Crabtree, Emily Ainsworth and Sage Verdier were declared the winners for their house designs. Each received a prize, with Bellway also donating £150 to the nursery.

Housing inquiry: An inquiry regarding 125 new houses will open later this month. Welbeck Land has made an appeal, regarding to an application submitted to the Vale of White Horse District Council. The outline planning application was for up to 125 new homes near Coxwell Road, Faringdon. The application was refused on August 27 last year, with an appeal lodged on January 12. An inspector will now hold the inquiry, which will open on April 27 at 10am.

STRATTON: Highway improvement works will close part of Oxford Road for six weeks. The temporary traffic order (reference STR000140) will shut the A4312 between Winchester Close and Evergreen Road, the junction with Sandgate including 20 metres from the junction, and the junction with Nythe Road, including 40 metres from the junction. Traffic will be diverted via A419 southbound to Common Head Roundabout, A4259 Marlborough Road to Coate Roundabout, B4006 Dorcan Way to Greenbridge Roundabout and Slade Drive and vice versa. The order will come into force on May 1, with work starting on May 2 and be completed six weeks later. NORTH-EAST SWINDON: Essential carriageway surfacing maintenance will close main routes around north-east Swindon,
