Chairman of Kogi United and Confluence Queens, Abdul Sule, said he heard about his sack as head of both clubs on Tuesday, on the radio.
Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade, who announced the sack in a statement on Tuesday, did not state the reasons for the government’s action.
However, our correspondent learnt that the dissolution might not be unconnected with the recent protest by players of Nigeria National League side Kogi United over the non-payment of their two-and-half-years sign-on fees and poor welfare condition.
Speaking with our correspondent on Tuesday, Sule said there was no official communication to him on his sack.
FA Cup quarter-final TV schedule confirmed

Manchester United will travel to Leicester City for a 5pm kick-off on March 21 in the FA quarter-finals, after the schedule and TV selections are confirmed on Monday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men will be hoping to reach a second consecutive semi-final, having lost at the last-four stage to Chelsea last year.
It will be one of two quarter-final ties shown live on the BBC, with Chelsea’s clash against Sheffield United also selected.
The Blues will host Chris Wilder’s side at 1.30pm on the same day.
The other two ties will be played Saturday March 20 and will be broadcast live on BT Sport.

UEFA have announced that the Champions League last-16 game between Atletico Madrid and Chelsea, will now be played in Bucharest, Romania.
This comes after the Spanish Government extended restrictions on the arrival of flights from the UK beyond the game’s matchday on February 23.
The decision also saw Manchester United’s Europa League away leg at Real Sociedad switched from San Sebastian to Turin on Tuesday.
“Our club has agreed to the change of venue – date and time remained unchanged – with UEFA.
“Given the impossibility for the English team to travel to Spain, Atletico Madrid has been looking for alternatives during the last few days, taking into account factors such as access to the country, availability of facilities, stadiums and the situation of the pandemic,” Atletico Madrid said in a statement.
Players of Kogi State female team, Confluence Queen have threatened to boycott their Nigeria Women Premier League, (NWPL) game against FC Robo if their demands are not met by the Kogi State Government.
This latest threat is coming a few days after their male counterparts, Kogi United protested for a backlog of entitlements and sign-on fees for two seasons.
The game between Confluence Queen and FC Robo is scheduled to take place today, Wednesday, at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium by 4PM.
The players had accused the government of failing to give priority to their welfare as they continue to play their league matches with empty stomachs.
