More Covid-19 treatment sites set up as cases soar

Hun Manet, deputy commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, has been leading a working group to set up another Covid-19 treatment site for minor cases.
In a Facebook post on April 21, he said: “In these difficult circumstances, our team has no right to take a rest yet.”
Manet said the team had finished the second step to setting up the centre. Nearly 2,600 beds were added for treatment of patients at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre.

PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA
Cambodia began setting up thousands of hospital beds in two wedding party halls on Sunday to cope with an influx of COVID-19 patients in a country that up until recently had largely managed to contain infections.
Cambodia also reported a daily record of 618 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, its health ministry said, in a spike in infections following an outbreak first detected in late February.
