It was the Bombers! Photo mystery solved

- SUBMITTED PHOTO In our previous edition, on Friday, Sept. 18, we asked readers to help us identify the men in this photo – and boy, did they ever come through! Several of you called to identify the men as the 20-year-old non-returning members of the 1992-93 Anavet Cup champion Flin Flon Bombers. The photo was taken in the summer of 1993 outside the Beck family cabin at Phantom Lake. Pictured are: Nolan Weir (1), Jason Brown (2), Chris Hatch (3), coach Norm Johnston (4), Dan Dennis (5), Rob Beck (6) and Wally Spence (7). The Reminder has forwarded this information to the Flin Flon Heritage Project, which sent us the photo.

Kind Bay Initiative awarded police seized cash to support vulnerable people in Colwyn Bay

A COMMUNITY group in Colwyn Bay that works with vulnerable people to explore their creative talents has received a welcome boost thanks to cash seized from criminals. The Kind Bay Initiative has been providing food, clothes and entertainment as well as advice and support for those struggling with isolation and mental health issues and in need of support since 2019. Covid-19 has meant an increase in demand for their weekly activities at their new premises in Princes Drive where they focus on activities such as expressive art, clay therapy, pyrography, printing and photography. It is a development made possible thanks a £2,500 grant from a special fund distributed by North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Arfon Jones.
