Carson Wentz was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Indianapolis Colts for a 2021 third-round draft pick and a conditional 2022 second-round draft pick that could turn into a first-rounder. The significance of this for Jets fan is the price tag that came with Wentz; with rumors of trading Sam Darnold gaining traction as time goes on. Yes, Carson had shown MVP-like potential in 2017, but he has essentially been a shell of that ever since. To some, Darnold may have that same untapped potential, and is currently only 23 years old. Good morning, GGN! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. With a lot of players on the team becoming unrestricted free agents and quite a few bad contracts on the books, the Jets and GM Joe Douglas have some decisions to make. One of those players is wide receiver Jamison Crowder. Crowder has been one of the only reliable players on the team in the past two years, and a safety valve for whoever is playing quarterback. During a press conference this past season Crowder was heard saying that he viewed this season as a ‘try out for 32 other teams’; implying that he doesn’t plan on sticking around through this rebuild. Personally, I think the Jets should move on for cap reasons. I believe Braxton Berrios played as well as Crowder when given the time this season and it’s always better to go with the much cheaper option if the drop-off in

Good morning, Gang Green Nation! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. Reports are coming out that multiple teams have shown interest in Jets’ quarterback Sam Darnold, and that the current price on Sam is a late 1st-round selection. Given that information it’s fair to assume it’s only a handful of teams who are moving on, or have moved on from aging quarterbacks. Teams like the Steelers and Colts would come to mind. However, this could all be a smokescreen as reports lately have also indicated that the Raiders have been getting a lot of phone calls about their own quarterback, Derek Carr. Personally if I’m the Jets, I look to offload Darnold at that price point and hope that Justin Fields (or Deshaun Watson) end up panning out for the team.
