‘Cobra Kai’ Season 3 Draws Big Viewership, but Nowhere Near ‘Bridgerton’ or ‘Queen’s Gambit’

Netflix is projecting 41 million member households will have watched at least a small portion of “Cobra Kai” Season 3 within its first 28 days. The season launched on Jan. 1, so we’re not even halfway there yet.
For a recent comparison, “Bridgerton,” which launched on Christmas, is projected to surpass 63 million households within its own first four weeks. The Shondaland drama had the advantage of debuting earlier than “Cobra Kai” over the holiday break.

Even after nearly forty years including four films, two remakes, and now three seasons of television the “Karate Kid” universe is still going as strong as ever, with season three of its spinoff,“Cobra Kai,” streaming on Netflix now. The show’s latest season has had somewhat of a rocky path. After being commissioned by and produced for Youtube’s paid streaming service, Youtube Premium (originally called Youtube Red when “Cobra Kai” was first released), the show made a sudden jump to Netflix.
Co-creators Josh Heald and Robert Mark Kamen were interested in pursuing at least a fourth season and possibly beyond, but Youtube was unwilling to renew the show for a fourth installment, citing an interest in pivoting towards unscripted content, according to Deadline.

Cobra Kai in October, so fans sweeping the legs of season 3, which premiered over the New Year’s weekend, did so knowing there was more story to come. But with so many cameos and callbacks already made, and a finale more nuanced than a straight-up cliffhanger, what does it leave for season 4, exactly?

Cobra Kai episode 10 ends with Johnny’s dojo of exiles training alongside Daniel’s charges at Miyagi-do HQ. Kreese, meanwhile, has full control of Cobra Kai, with Tory as his second-in-command, and Johnny’s kid Robby joining the team out of spite. Daniel, at last, kicked Kreese’s ass in the Cobra Kai dojo, but was unable to have him evicted from said premises. Cobra Kai Season 3 is now streaming on Netflix, which means you need to drop what you’re doing and watch it now if you haven’t already. Seriously, the new season is a blast from start to finish and ups the ante for the show in every way; and takes Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do into some cool new directions.
For those in need of a refresher, Season 2 left our heroes, namely Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), and their respective students at their lowest point after the two dojos carried out a battle royale at their high school an event that left Miguel (Xolo Mariduena) in a coma and Robby (Tanner Buchanan) on the run.
